ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AT PARK VIEW

SOL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

SOL After School Program will begin when we return to school in January. This program will be for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students who need extra remediation for SOL testing in the Spring.

VIOLIN STUDIES

At Park View Elementary School, music study is an integral part of each child's education. In addition to a general music class, every 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade student in the school takes violin classes twice weekly as a part of the regular school curriculum. Lessons, instruments, music, and equipment are all provided through The Academy of Music, a non-profit community music school based in Norfolk. We are now in our seventh year. The program has exposed hundreds of young people to the joys of music and several Park View alumni have gone on to win regional string competitions.

This year, we added 6th grade students as a part of the elementary school program. They participate in violin classes each week for an hour.Park View Elementary School is very proud of its strings program.
