About

        Named after Emily N. Spong, a prominent Portsmouth citizen and School Board chairman, our building first opened its doors as an elementary school in 1956.  In 2004, the building was designated as a preschool and began operation as Emily N. Spong Preschool Center.

       Emily N. Spong Preschool Center is unique in that it houses both Head Start and Bright Start Preschool programs.

Our School Colors are Orange and Black.  Our school mascot is a Tiger Cub.
