Welcome to New Directions Center. Our school delivers a quality education to students in grades K-8 who have experienced adjustment or behavior problems in the regular zone school environment. We are committed to providing a high quality alternative educational program that focuses on individualized instruction in the four core content areas; Math, Science, English, and Social Studies.

We are excited about the changes in place this 2011-2012 school year at NDC. New to our staff is Karen Diggs, Office Manager. This is our seventh year implementing the K-8 program, and we are excited to work one-on-one with the students to encourage them and help them reach their behavior and academic goals. Our school climate, as implemented by Dr. Robert Sheppard, has all teachers focusing on Character Education, which cannot be stressed enough in the alternative school environment. When students are self-motivated to make positive changes in their own behavior, this leads to academic improvement and a positive transition back to the regular zone school.
