Schools Eligible for School CHOICE in 2011-2012 

Under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), parents of students in a school that does not make Adequate Yearly Progress or AYP for two consecutive years in improving the achievement of all students have the opportunity to transfer their children under the CHOICE option to a public school that has made AYP and not under any sanctions.  The schools eligible for NCLB School CHOICE are Brighton and Churchland Academy Elementary Schools. The receiving schools to which the eligible CHOICE schools could transfer were Churchland Primary and Intermediate, Hodges Manor, Simonsdale, and Victory Elementary Schools.  The number of students eligible and the number who applied and were transferred are shown in the chart below.
