The Office of Foreign Languages is dedicated to empowering students in foreign languages courses with the skills and competencies necessary for oral and written proficiency in the target language.  As we realize our global reality and that natural boundaries are shrinking, it is imperative that language barriers are removed through communication, connections, comparisons and communities. The study of foreign languages leads to a deeper appreciation for the culture and more thorough examination of others, that prepares the student to become a productive citizen in the emerging  global community.
