The Mission of the Portsmouth Public Schools is to educate all students to meet high academic standards and to prepare all students for responsible citizenship.

Located in the heart of the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, Portsmouth Public Schools provides outstanding educational programs in an environment conducive to learning and teaching. The division consists of three high schools, three middle schools, 14 elementary schools, three Pre-K centers, a special education center, an alternative school, an adult learning center, and a career and technology center.

We are deeply committed to providing every child a quality education in a safe environment. We can not do this alone, and the support of parents, staff, and the entire community's vitally important to ensure the success of our students. Working together, we can ensure that all of our children are prepared to be successful workers, family members and citizens.
