How can I help my child?
Parents might be asking, "What can I do to help my child succeed on the SOL tests?" Check out the tips listed below. Help your child do his/her best on the upcoming SOL tests:
Set aside time every day for your child's homework. Review his/her homework when you can.
Set up a designated area for studying. Have supplies avaliable that your child may need.
Know when the SOL tests are given. Mark these dates on the family calenday.
Display a positive attitude about the SOL tests. Help your child understand that tests are a part of school life.
Review the curriculum and the SOL Blueprints and talk to your chiuld about what he/she is learning.
Make sure your child understands the value placed on his/her achievement.
Encourage your child to stay relaxed and calm during the SOL tests. If your child tends to get nervous about tests, dicuss ideas for him/her to remain calm.
Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a good breakfast before the SOL tests.
Remind your child to bring his/her glasses to school on all testing days.
Make sure your child is at school on time so that he/she won't feel rushed on testing days.
Encourage your child to try hard and do his/her best every day in school.
Be your child's number on fan!

On June 1 the CHMS PTA will be having a yard sale. Rent your tables for $20.00 each and come for buying, selling and fellowship. The yard sale begins at 7:00 A.M. Come out and enjoy food, music, and fun! Last day to purchase a table is May 27, 2013.

The PTA is looking for parents to volunteer at school. We would appreciate any time you could invest in our school. We need help at the following times.
Front Desk 11am - 1pm
Library (anytime)
Cafeteria on Friday during lunch periods to assist with Red Tickets
Class MOMs - parents assisting in a class
The PTA would like to encourage parents to join the PTA. Dues are only $5.00 per family member. No new memberships after April 30th.
Churchland Middle School PTA has 100% Faculty and Staff Membership
The PTA would like to Congratulate all students that received a 500 or better on their SOL!
