The testing window for Spring 2013 Virginia Standards of Learning Assessments for students enrolled in grades 3-8 is scheduled for May 13, 2013 to June 5, 2013. These tests are a part of the statewide assessments designed to measure student achievement.
Parents are requested to help their child be prepared for these tests by: 1) informing your child of the importance of giving his/her best performance on these tests; 2) maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment of your child’s efforts in the home; and 3) encouraging your child to get adequate rest.
Parents should also be aware that students are not allowed access to cell phones or other electronic devices during testing. In recent years the use of these devices has grown among students. The use of cell phones or other electronic devices with camera features, text messaging functions, voice-activated recording capabilities, internet access, etc. pose a potential impact on test security.
Parents are being requested to notify the school if their child has a medical appointment and will be leaving school before testing can be completed.
If you have additional questions, please contact the school. Thank you for your support.
With kind regards and best wishes.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kurt Kreassig
Principal
